I have an idea that will make hacking the ps2 much easier. Bear with me for a moment...
Ok . The idea is..
Now as everyone knows most of our routers are web based configurable, so the code is very small.
Use a bootstrap to load a cd that has the network drivers on it. If we can load a small webserver type facility on a high port that will not interfere with any ports used by the games, this server utility can then provide access to the machine as it is running, by sending query statements to pass parameters it will be able to respond with info (such as memory dumps) generated to our browser. It can be lightweight because it does not need to listen but on one port. This technology can be made.. like a cgi/perl/asp/jsp/php relayer of information does. If someone can
please respond with some info maybe a linux solution like apache or tomcat to provide the relay or a modified modperl...
After this is loaded then it loads the game and you can play and start hacking in real time.
This makes it much easier that try to guess memory addresses...
Cause you already have them. Between this tool and ps2dis games can be cracked in a matter of hours instead of months...
If anyone can assist me on this project i would be very grateful.
I post here in the dev forum cause I need programmers not a bunch of people whining about cheat codes.
Thanks for your time and any assistance that may be provided...
