It would definately be possible... The question is whether there is anyone with the technically know how who cared enough to do it.
Hehe... I just realized I have an atari 600xl (very much like the 800xl I believe..) sitting in my closet collecting dust..
My first computer was an Atari 400. I then owned an 800 followed by the ST. I've still got tons of ST software and crap around here somewhere. The good ol' days.![]()
Old post, but I'd thought I'd just add my 2cents... I'd absolutely adore an Atari 800/XL/XE emulator for PS2, massive library with some absolutely magnificent ports of the old arcade classics on that platform. Playing the Atari console versions just doesn't compare (some excellent 2 player games on there too, anyone remember Archon?).
The Atari800 emulator is very mature and has been ported to almost every modern platform from GP32 to Dreamcast to PSP. I've spent a lot of time playing with the Atari800Winplus and BeOS versions and I've been extremely impressed with its flawless performance.
I truly hope one day some keen developer catches onto this idea and see's it through.

So would I. To that end I had contacted the atari800 team. They have been most helpful. Poitr of the atari800 teams did most of the (what I would call complex stuff, because I don't understand how it works) programming. IE sound and video parts.
We have a couple small bugs to work out, after that I figure I'll look into getting a pre-compiled binary out.
Awesome!!! I really hope this comes to light, would be very excited to see it.
And if/when it is out, I hope it's not released then forgotten. Sad to see so many emulators on PS2 that get so close to being perfect and then are just ignored.
Some things that I'd think would be particularly nice to see would be. Easy navigation via gui to boot executables or disk images and ability to have the ELF and exe/disk images entirely on usb mass storage or cd.

Cherrypie, do you have ntsc or pal ps2? If you have a pal ps2, PM me, if you're interested. I need someone to test what i have so far and see how it works on a PAL system. As you probably can guess, I have NTSC PS2.
PM sent, it's a PAL PS2 and I'd love to help any way I can (If only I could code, lol).Originally Posted by holiday
