Ok, finally, just today, I see what I have been waiting for... the newest JPN version of PAR...which is the MAX EVO that comes with a USB storage device, finally shows up in Japan.

I buy it, take it home. Stick it in my SCPH-50000 (from May 2004) but which also happens to be a V11 (GH-029), and it tells me its not a valid disc...basicall y gives me the out-of-region type display.

It works just fine on an older model JPN box...I tried it on a SCPH-30000 JPN. It boots up just fine.

On my PSX, its worse than the V11, it goes to a "pink" screen of death - dunno why pink though.

So, should I have at least not expected the PAR MAX EVO to *NOT* with a SCPH-50000 V11 ? I do not read much Japanese, but there is nothing obvious on the box that mentions it shouldn:t work. There are a number of sentences that mention the SCPH-70000 though.

If anyone can shed some light on what my expectations should have been it would be much appreciated, because otherwise I am out ¥8800 (Yen).
