Erm, when you say "CD/DVD Generator", don't you mean the PS2-disc building program? Because I was thinking PS1 more over here......

Well thanks for the links, but....
1) Why would I need to know how to dump an existing CD? I want to make a new one from scratch.
2) PSOne ISO Maker Pro - and the similarly titled PSOne ISO Maker - are essentially frontends for mkisofs, so the same flaws apply. In addition, those two programs don't allow you to manually insert whatever files you prefer to add, offering instead a mere "point at directory and build ISO out of that" option.
Use PsxCDGen or PS2CDGen - these two are only one of easy to use and controlled LBA image creators. If You want something more advanced use mkisofs or CD-Tool. If You want used something illegal for You, use Sony CD Generator.
Better apps for creating psx images doesn't exist.
If You want add something to existing game image, or want change LBA not interfering with subchannels, use PSX TOC Changer.
And that's precisely the problem. I *do* want to use CD-Tool and see what it can do, but I don't know diddly-squat about Lua. Indeed, the original purpose of this thread was to ask anyone if they knew enough about Lua to help somebody out with this exact program.
Shame really. It does seem like PS2 gets WAY more love tools-wise. I still can't work out why there's seemingly so little information on XA/STR subchannels as well. Is it like some Sony secret that no 3rd-party tool-makers have majorly worked out?Better apps for creating psx images doesn't exist.
Oooooooh, now this I didn't know of. After some googling, I assume you mean this tool? I might see if that can help sort out the LBA problem post-UltraISO.If You want add something to existing game image, or want change LBA not interfering with subchannels, use PSX TOC Changer.
It does. This tool is good for adding some data to image - in tenchu translation we merged preloader with game executable and move it to the end of image. If You want replace some smaller or identical files use CDMage. Another great app.
No, of course not. These programs was made for homebrew, not for game hacking and I think this is the general reason why not implemented support sub channels. Is it like some Sony secret that no 3rd-party tool-makers have majorly worked out?
Yeah CDMage is like GC-Tool it only allows you to add smaller or identical files when you put in a smaller file it patches dummy data onto the end of the file so the LBA's match the original.
