Are there any elfs LIKE HDLoader that i can get free? or how do i get it for free? lol sorry if asking that breaks a rule >_<

OPL aka ( OpenPS2Loader ) is free along with many other apps .

sksapps.com and this site are partners in the development of new apps for the PS2. If you would have done a little searching rather than starting a new thread, you would have seen numerous threads that talk about both OPL and HDL and the links both here and at sksapps.

But I'm glad you at least know how to use google.

since we're talking about sksapps, psx-scene and OPL - how come older public releases of OPL are not on sksapps yet?

sksapps download pages are much better organized than forums, so it would only be natural to co-host most common downloads from psx-scene over there.

A bit on a tangent but how do OPL and HDL compare in terms of capabilities, game compatibility, etc.?

OPL is compatible with games HDLoader can not load and vice versa,
but the potential of OPL is bigger than that of HDL, as it’s open source.

Actually, I'm interested in OPL now that my HDL HDD has died and I'll need to replace it. I haven't used OPL yet, but might if it has HDD support for the v12 70012. How would one go about loading games onto it? Same as HDL?

Yeah, I should have kept up with the OPL thread, but I only have so much time in a day.
