Sony never called you or anybody else using CFW a pirate. You are however in violation of their TOS.
By all means, you should keep using CFW and backup managers legitimately but Sony is in their full rights to deny you access to their network.
If you visit somebody's house, I'm sure you act as a guest should, with respect for those living in the house.
