    All PS3s should work with any 802.11 b/g wireless router regardless of the firmware. If you have a CAT5 network plug on your PS3, then you should be able to use that too. I would imagine the router in question also has CAT5 ports? I would be surprised if there were a router that was wireless only.

    Im not the cable, router or internet geek! so CAT5 doesnt make me not scrath my head...so? wats Cat5 ?

    No offense kid but if you don't know what a CAT5 is or 802.11b/g/n is... then you are wasting your time and ours. I would recomend that you read more about the subject and then we will be able to help you more detailed but the plain aswers is Yes it will work or if you want to update to the latest firmware download it from the SONY official webpage and use an USB flashdrive to do it.

    CAT5 is network cable. 802.11 b/g are the wireless standard. Google is also a good place to find out 'wat' stuff is.
