Unable to join game on assorted titles

Hi, first and foremost, i know this *probably* isnt an jb issue, however, i'm still putting it out here. I know theres some clever heads so my chances are as good here as anywhere.

That said,
I'm having trouble connecting to ANY matches in SSF4 and Lost Planet 2. COD Black OPS works fine.

I've got 2 ps3's. One is a 60GB FAT that is EU hardware. The other one is a recently bought slim that is UK hardware.

On the 60GB all the games work online, on the slim not so. I've checked, and SSF4 servers are NOT region locked so i should be able to (for instance) play the a korean BD SSF4, connect to players all around the world on a chilean ps3. This is just an example but you get the point.

I am totally scratching my head over this. I'm sitting with two ps3's with identical software but one of them doesnt work for most games online matchmaking.

Just putting it out there. I dont expect anyone to even remotely know what to do but you never know.

I just read over my post again and i realized i didnt pose a question, lol. How stupid of me. Ok so i am just wondering if anyone knows how to change console regions or something. Obviously this is an issue with the online servers being region locked by hardware. I can't really see it any other way.

so, how do i change the hardware region on my console? so that instead of asking for fuk01 it asked for feu01??? please advice.

I'd love to play SSF4 online, but it won't connect to any games and also I'm unable to host a game.
