Are they banning ip console or account?

ok i have just finished skimming through posts but cant find the answer

i have a fat ps3 with cfw
it has been on psn using the f*ckpsn method so i could trophy sync and download some dlc

i have a slim ps3 for online play (took the advice of the majority and brought a specific console for onlineplay)
the same account is used between the two (i regulary use a flash drive to move a save between the bedroom and front room)

i have a static ip
i have over £300 of purchases on psn if not more and psn plus

if its a console ban then i am not woried thats fine and yeah i spose expected
if its an ip ban that means i can never again play on psn no matter what console i buy
if its account ban then im royaly screwed and will lose a shitload of money and game progress (that seems illegal to me)

so those that have been banned was it your account?, your console? or your ip?

If they ban your ip, you can get back in by renewing your ip, you said your ip is static, but is it static by the provider? or you made it static via router?
Tho thats not gonna be the case, they will ban your console just like billy did on the xbox 360.

Your account i dont think will get banned if you comply with them, but rest assure that they will be keeping an eye out for those that where hacked and now going legit.

Also it shouldnt be illegal since your violating their rules, PSN is free after all, so you really have no say if they ban your account, tho like i said before, i dont think will happen if you comple with the demands.

I vote none because I didn't get banned. Anyway, I never went online and PSN while PS3 jb anyway so I am happy with offline anyway. I just knew it would be risk so I am not STUPID. I am wise. Thank you very much.

Can you explain your logic? You didnt go online, furthermore you cannot go online, therefore you have not had the ability to access PSN.

So how is this different to those unfortunate enough to get a ban, and who also can't now access the PSN. At least they've had the last few months or access and I'm sure they are equally happy with an offline console.

so hypothetically speaking u have 2 ps3; one hacked, and one that has never been hacked. You use the same account for each. you've been online with the hacked one once, so you've received the dreaded letter. does this mean that if you stay offline with the hacked one, you'll be fine?

well if they're banning accounts too with any other unique identifiers, some of us could have a serious problem on our hands. then theres the whole thing about using internet without logging into psn and sony still getting their logs. there are ways to block your ps3 from sony servers, but i doubt most people took the time to work that out. not that they weren't asking for trouble, but needless to say, this thought intrigues me.

Here they banned only the console not my account and never received emails!There is a way to spoof your console id from charles but i don't know if this is what they banned from the console

yeah it was me trying to work out the ramifications, im yet to recieve the email,

for now i have blocked the cfw ps3 from going online via my router so i can still ftp to it with ease.

the thing is when people say "i never went online as i expected a ban" and even what i have just done, thats effectivly a self inflicted psn ban lol

if i do get the email i will not comply with there demands...its my ps3 ill install what i want on it

the other ps3 is legit, always been legit and so i spose in a sense i am complying
now i just need to find out how to get my dlc from my ofw ps3 to my cfw ps3 (a whole nother thread really, and google may even answer that...hmmm off to research)

Rly now, being totally stupid now? Cuz, there have been Bans before CFW and they Ban the MAC Adress....Its rly nothin new, but like this u see how many NOOBS do CFW Guess a simple google search would have helped, but guess your a google Noob too
