If Sony really wanted to promote creativity, they wouldn't have tried to
sue the guy who hacked their AIBO or shut them down.
It is, after all, a toy that the consumer bought. It isn't really hurting Sony to have people program their own robots the way they want. In fact, it's promoting creativity like M$ and the Kinect. Sony is just trying to show off their e-peen, saying "I'm a bad mofo. Don't play against MY rules."
Yeah, software piracy is wrong, but so is trying to stop people from finding new ways to use stuff they bought. Let's face it, Sony is NOT gonna play nice with independent developers. This is why hacking makes them nervous. These guys are coming up with stuff Sony can't.
Hell, if all 3 major companies were to cooperate, they could come up with some kick ass stuff people would love to get their hands on.
