Is it safe to use a PSN account from CFW PS3 on OFW?

So is it safe for me to use a PSN account that i used on a CFW PS3 on another PS3 thats on OFW right now, without risking to get banned?

it should be safe because your using official firmware, it probably means your cfw ps3 is not banned also if you can login..
but saying that who knows when a ban wave may arrive!!!

only a console ban may arrive on a cfw ps3.. unlikely be an official firmware one!!!

I see no reason why not. If they aren't going to ban you for using CFW, why would they ban you now you're using OFW?

i dont even think its possible for them to know you are on CFW if you are using it on a completely different PS3 thats on OFW. i would feel pretty safe with it.

Thanks for all the replies. The reason i'm not comfy with this is because i got a email back in the day from sony like almost everybody else who used PSN on cfw, that they found out im using CFW. Now if they initiate a ban wave, would they ban all the accounts that some time in history used CFW? And in turn that could ban my OFW PS3....?

i would say they would have logged the cfw console if they ban...
but if they gave you a user ban you would not be able to login on that user ever again.
but if you are using official firmware they have no right to ban your console!!!
create another user profile..!!

as for emails from sony i think everyone almost recieved them, scary tactics!!!
sometimes effective, but not for me!!!

i have a ps3 on cfw 3.55
and one on 3.66 ofw
i'm always online with the official one/ same accounts/ psn!!!
they can ban my account if they want, that means they wont get any cash from me again...
i win!!!!
they lose!!

Think of it this way, if you're not on CFW, you're basically banning yourself. If you get on OFW, the worst they can do is ban you, which they haven't done yet so it seems pretty safe.

Don't be so sure ... my xbox360 was original right from xbox repair did not flash it at all have a flashed one in the basement my online one got banned during a ban wave.... xbox wouldn't tell me why of course but oh well just swapped the 2 changed the other one to unflashed and online safe. $ony may do the same but you never know....

I also have a jb slim and i'm also logged on to my buddies ps3 for online games no letter or ban yet anyways...

I really dont feel like i want to get screwed by Sony so i guess i'll play it safe and use a new PSN account...
