Hi somebody know about the Ps Kinect project but it seems to be forfeit .

I want to ask if it's possible to make an undeground psn i don't mean xlink or xbslink but a true false psn for Ps3 Cfw and Dongle ?

Why if it possible , why it's not released ????? I seen that we know the running of the psn , we can spoof the game's live adresses and find them with eboot server retriever , so why ???

I don't have the skills to do it but it not seem to be that hard !!!

    We need :

_ A fake ps3 psn server on PC ( not possible on The Server Game Host because everybody will must send their id and password or in other case possible with a secured register ) with it , we can login like the true psn

_ A Modded Ps3DNS to spoof all the adresses and link them to the Under Psn.

_ A Link beetween The Fake Psn Server and The Server Game Host. With it we can see our friend who are conected.

_ A Game Host , i don't know if a game host like xlink kai it's possible for live games but xlink kai it's free ( 0$ ; 0€ ) so a free solution if possible.
    With it we can play

I just explain the basics of my idea , i'm not a programer or something like that but someone could answer me if it's possible. And if someone could make it !!!! Everobody will help him i think

And a last word ^^ sorry for my english i'm french

I saw the title and thought PSN Underground Like a "MOFO". I dont think its possible, you need dedicated servers and some mad coding skills. Im not sure the devs have been able to fully unlock the PS3(maybe they have). I do believe they do this stuff for a hobby and only wanted to play the games they own without a disc not hack or create a PSN environment. Also if it was possible I think you would have seen it on the 360 first. Good Luck.

Not really possible, with PS3 all the games use their own servers provided by the developers, you'd have to emulate those servers for each game.
Only reason xlink kai and others work is because they use system link, where no outside server is involved.
This was discussed back with Xbox 1 (and 360...), the same problem came up and people realized there's no point. Either buy yourself a new PS3 for online or stick with xlink.
A question like this appears most every week, it would be good if somebody could sticky what I just explained above.
    PSIDPatch - http://bit.ly/psidpatch
    xRegistry Editor - http://bit.ly/xregistry
    Playstation 3 Update Repo - http://bit.ly/iR2iXh

People, stop hating on Math & Co. If it wasn't for them we'd be nowhere, so what if they have their secrets? Remember, they could of just decided not to show anything

Setting up a fake PSN would require a bunch of web servers, a dedicated DNS, a new certificate installed on each client machine.... and a bunch of other stuff. Not trivial but not impossible.

With a bit of apache set up and coding you could set up a fake PSN that allowed login, trophy sync, messages between users, the PSN store (full of homebrew) etc etc.

You may need a jabber server to set up the news items scrolling thing, as I'm pretty sure that ran on jabber protocol.

BUT - Running private/underground game servers would be next to impossible as the code to do so is held privately by the game companies.

I don't know enough about the whole mechanism of connecting to the genuine game servers with your PSN credentials to know if it's possible to have a fake/underground PSN connect you to real game servers from a fake PSN like you could from the dev network. If the security was any good the answer would be no. Either way that would probably be shut down pretty fast.

The real problem (IMHO) is who wants to do this and get sued?
Especially as it (probably) won't allow online gaming?

You may be able to tie it up with xlink kai/xbslink/whatever I don't really know at this point.

really the lengths this would involve would be ridiculous, and 99% of games on ps3 do not have a dedicated server so how exactly do you plan on playing the games?

It basically comes down to how secure are the games servers. We know that the dev servers can connect to them, this was accomplished when dev psn genuinely believed we were connecting to dev servers instead. If the game servers themselves don't have some inbuilt mechanism for verifying you are connecting through genuine psn (evidence would suggest they don't as they were never intended to be accessed through the dev network) then it may be as simple as convincing the console it is genuinely logged in via some home written psn authentication servers which then connect us to the game server.

Yes that would require changed certificates.

Yes that would likely need a custom dns server

Yes we do have sniffed records of psn traffic going back and forward from about last November which would greatly aid someone in writing such a psn authentication server...

And yes the evidence would suggest it is at least presently theoretically possible....

However it would probably be relatively simple to patch if anyone ever did write it.

It wouldn't be a walk in the park - this would prob be a massive undertaking! And might well land one in legal troubles were one not very cautious!

As regards setting up our own game servers this may vary on a game to game basis there is very likely non publicly available server side code necessary however I suppose this might not be the case for all games....I'd be surprised if it weren't the case for most though!

I'd like to see xlink Kai plugins come in when multitasking and plugins come to fruition....but that is mostly dreaming and even then would simply be for LAN/System Link ;-)
