PSN has ALWAYS been slow….it took over an hour to download the free "Ghost Rider" movie that PSN was offering….but yet i downloaded the MotorStorm Demo off PS3News and it only took 20 minutes, sure there was like a 200MB difference or less, but still a MAJOR difference
As of 1/26/2011:no slower than it usually is
Yeah, but is your connection to your DNS (f*ckPSN) wireless or wired? I've got my PS3 on a wireless-N network bridge and all the other devices in my network are gigabit networked and I have no issues w/ PSN
Could be due to the disaster in Japan today? Read somewhere that Sony have.been affected by the damage.
Tesco Internet?
"Sony Corp. (SNE) said the first floor of a magnetic tape and Blu-ray plant in Miyagi had been flooded after the quake. "
2nd UPDATE: Foreign Businesses Hit By Japan Earthquake - WSJ.com
So...that means Sony might just be laying off of the banhammer...and maybe, just maybe...stop worrying about lawsuits. But, then again, that earthquake/tsunami could fuel more fire to Sony to go out and wanna destroy everybody! Hope not tho...and possibly it could mean PSN will be hackable for a long timeor not.
And to the slow PSN thing, I actually noticed it sucked too, downloaded a 24mb update for MvC3 and it took about 15 minutes...I have a 15mb/s connection so very slow to me. Could possibly be the Japan incident...Seriously, I was just thinking about it...We shouldn't even be complaining right now, most of us are happily at home playing our nifty Playstations while in many other parts of the world, shit is just F*CKED UP! I'm pretty sure places like Libya and Japan are just a major shit hole right now...Hope things turn out brighter for them in the future.
Try just using the DNS work around. However using a wireless connection makes it slow as hell, I have my ps3 just a few feet from my router and no obstructions and it's still really crap.
