PSN brick

Hey All

With Drizzt ****PSN 0.4 recently out, I have been doing a little research and I have read/heard that sony can brick your PS3 if you gain access to psn while on 3.55.

Is this true ?? It would be very outrages if they could do such a thing. If this is not true what else can sony do ?? just ban your PSN account or ???

Say if they can brick your PS3, just to be on the safe side would there be any way of somehow configuring the firewall on your PC to block this ? Seeing as your PC is acting as the middle man....

I have kmeaw 3.55+ multiman and loving it but do miss playing online..

Not true, it has never happened as of yet and people are just tryin to scare eachother. It might be true that sony installed a system on the 3.56fw so they can run code on your ps3 remotely but dont worry about the 3.55.

Yes they can ban you for using a cfw on psn and they are entitled to do so but its the worst that can happen

Yes I do hope so its not true.. well should have no problems then, I dont care if they ban my PSN acc anyway... ill just remake one

Youre psn account won't just get banned tho. The console id gets banned from ever accessing psn again whether you make a new account or not

O god dammit... now thats not good.. has this happened to many people ?? Hope Drizzt way lasts long enough wo PSN ban..

Impossible. Sony woud never "brick" your console (on purpose, that is.

). The worst they could do is ban you from PSN. You bought the console. I don't think they have the right to fully disable it. In my opinion, sony would get in some legal trouble if they bricked your console.

I totally agree... Speaking of legal trouble, I hope the people on the official playstation forums speak out about how there PS3's where bricked updating to 3.56 while using a non original PS3 hard drive. They didnt even do any hacking of any kind and its perfectly legal to swap your hard drive, its even in the PS3 manual...

They'll just send it back to sony and theyll fix it. out of warranty or not. happened to my friends ps3 and its been out of warranty for 3 years. They picked it up and are in the process of fixing it (for free of course).

yea i'd imagine IF Fony did remotely brick consoles there would be a tiny bit of an uproar

, so the choice as always is yours, hack your way onto PSN & play or stay offline.

they are well within their rights to ban either your PSN account, console or both as you are breaking their T&C by hacking your way onto PSN with a CFW, but as yet they haven't banned anyone, people are just getting paranoid & spreading false information.

I'm not to bothered about PSN so will stay offline, thats maybe because I don't have any friends /cry :P
