How do you get banned?

I've searched around but it doesnt look like anyone's really asked and if they
did im really sorry for asking again.

I was just curious about how it happens.Do you just log in to the psn store
once and then when you try again later it just gives you an error code?
What about the internet browser can that lead to you getting banned someway? Can trying to patch a game get you banned? Can you even patch
a backed up game?

Anyways i dont want to create a wall of text so i'll stop here.I'd appreciate
and thank anyone for any answers they give.

cheating and cfw, but mainly cheating from what ive read on the MANY post that are here already.

Sony has never given a damn about cheating you get banned for having custom firmware.

disagree, they can ban you for cheating, as thats happened to a few here, and my cousin got banned last night for cheating too, they can ban you for anything they want.

I haven't even been around that long and read that. Mostly cheating is what I've read too. I've been playing online for a couple weeks, good so far. I'll enjoy it while it last. But I'm not gonna cheat.

doesnt it feel good tho? i mean doesnt it feel good to actually read stuff that gets posted and not having to ask so many questions? to feel like...you know what, i did it and all i had to do was just do a little reading

like me, i will not post something am not 100% sure, i just cant see myself doing that.

I didn't even know SONY was banning for cheating! I thought it was Activision doing the CoD bans and those are the only ones i've even heard of! But if you suck at games so bad that you have to cheat online, then you deserve to be banned..in fact, you deserve to be criminally punished and banished from ANY online gaming for the rest of your cheating life. As far as getting banned for CFW, is it really the CFW that gets people banned or the home-brew? Didn't the email say "unauthorized programs"? (I can't remember, i deleted my message)..of course, why would you have CFW if you weren't using some sort of home-brew..just an observation….but I don't even think Sony has started bans for home-brew/CFW yet…

so far, play on on PSN all you want just don't cheat like the rest of the banned losers…and even these new "Console Spoofing" and "history wiping" apps are out there, they don't exactly have 100% proof they work….It's actually going to make me laugh when one of those users get banned and I don't since I don't spoof my firmware, what programs i'm running or clear the history as well has have played Marvel Vs. Capcom on PSN (against other people actually) before the game went on sale (I paid full price when I reserved it, so technically I did have the game since I paid for it)

i am on cfw. i went to the psn store to buy shooter 2. i havent been banned. i havent gotten an email. I had to accept the new TOS to access the store. i dont play any multiplayer games online.

Really? I've had CFW since 3.55 and play a lot of MWF2, how do you explain me not being banned?

I've seen several banned people on this board admit to cheating, so I don't know how you can draw the opposite conclusion.
