    Hello everyone,

So, as title, can Sony actually BAN a PS3 even when it's connected with Ethernet (or Wi-Fi) and not logged in the Playstation Network? I'm asking this because I want to update multiMAN using internet and I'm scared of BAN.

    Thanks.

There are no confirmed bans because of it.

If you're scared of a ban, you don't hack your system. Simple as it can get.

If you're going to do stuff like that and void the terms of service, then it comes with the territory. Not prepared to lose a free service? Don't hack the freaking thing in the first place.

Seems like a dumb reason to risk getting a ban. Why not just download the pkg and ftp it over.

I haven't been banned (at least no email notification saying that).. I have my PS3 connected to the internet and my (and others) PSN account still associated but not signing in All I do anyway is just smash zombies on DR2 and test OpenPS3FTP.

I am not afraid of being banned ... I personally don't care about PSN but I would like to know this... never logged on psn since jailbroken .. but since the mail were sent, which I didn't receive, I unplugged my ps3.. anyway .. not like there is daily update to game I use...

But I just want to know if people only get banned by using PSN. it would only be a hassle less...

No proof of this but personally I don't think Sony are watching any PS3 that are using online capabilities only if they are signing into PSN. To do otherwise would cause them a hell of a lot of hassle for no reason.
