I notice that Charles software is a free trial?
Should I be worried in the future if it craps out on me?
And the race for bans is ON!
lol jk, enjoy your online guys, I won't be needing this but I'm glad someone finally dumbed it down enough so we have some hope of moving along. These forums can only improve once the annoying mass of barely literate latecoming ingrates get their goddamned candy and stop taking hostage the mod staff and every thread with their begging/trolling...
So thank you for that, at the very least...
And please, don't think I'm all labeling everybody as such. There is a huge majority of respectful & very helpful people out here who just happen to get drowned out by the people I'm referring to...
The same here, EU = 85 and asks me to update if i use the 8888 proxy in charles.
Or shows me an error if i don't use the proxy.
@Towser:
Please STFU, we don't need such comments. We know what we're doing so go troll elsewhere.
Not really, the program just closes it self at 30 minutes of use. You only need it to login and you can close it then.
How do you mean the 8888 proxy, where are you setting this? The option should be disabled in Charles AND you shouldn't set the proxy option on the PS3..
Its a DNS error...when i load a webpage using the ps3 browser i get
"the page cannot be displayed. The address you entered may not be correcr, or a DNS error may have occured. (80710103)"
And when i try clicking a friends avatar on the psn list i get an error
"An error occurred during communcation with the server. This is a DNS error."
My ps3dns.exe seems to be fine:
[DNS] query from 192.168.1.4 for fuk01.ps3.update.playstation.net - redirecting to 192.168.1.5
same for auth.np.ac requests...
(192.168.1.4 is my ps3 // 1.5 is my laptop running charles)
My actual home setup is a sky modem pluged into a netgear Wirless router with my ps3 connected to the netgear router by cable, and my laptop connected to the router via wirless...
Also before opening charles i have to run the command net stop http /y to kill all IIS listning on ports, because for some reason is is using port 80...
would that prevent the ps3 from going any further than logging into psn?
also when i test connection all suceeded and UPnP is available, NAT type 2..
but connection speed (upload/Download) both say failed :S haha
Thanks for the earlier reply.
I've moved the CA24.cer from my ps3 to my memory stick and I can't see it in windows7 is that right?
Thanks
edit: Scrub that, didn't have windows showing hidden windows files, durrr
I have an error with the redirection of the DNS, instead of redirecting to 192.168.1.2, my computer with charles, it redirects it to 192.168.152.1, don't know why. I changed the DNS address in the PS3 to 192.168.1.2 for primary and secondary. It should work =(.
@Towser:
Ouch, i feel dumb, sorry... :-/
@eth0:
I was using my config file.
I retried with your config file, however i can't restart the PS3DNS exe.
I keep having the following error after selecting EU: DNSSocket error
And still the same fw update :-*
its asking me to update my firmware when i test my connection not sure what i did wrong
