xmbgameloader - make 3.55 xmb mount pkgs for nearly EVERY game (except blackscreen)
xmbgameloader - make 3.55 xmb mount pkgs for nearly EVERY game (except blackscreen) –
dunno if this app is well known but it is very handy for those of you, who don't like to start everytime a bum before running the game and who do "like xmb cluttering". it does exactly the same as a bum, mount game to:
"app_home/PS3_GAME/dev_bdvd", but it installs on xmb and it works maybe for every game (even GOW3!!!) except blackscreen games, which need paticular mounting (consider it as last game app for every game). it includes a hermes payload in the pkg to make discless easier. in addition you can make usb-mounting pkgs to play from usb-drive, which is neccessary for specific games such as Prototype to play on 3.55 fw. so far this is one of the best pkg-maker out there in my opinion and very noob friendly as you only have to select paths of your files. no sfo edit no folder change, cause the pkg installs to "TIDUXXXXX" in gamedata categorie.
Note: it depends on java runtime environment. although it says 3.41 pkgs these are signed for 3.41 but only work for 3.55 fws as i already tested it a hundred times.
because it is only for usb001-usb006 and i have games only for usb000, i edited the jar file and replaced usb001 with usb000 for fat consoles. usb000 is the rightmost usb-port on a fat and usb006 is the leftmost usb port on a fat. i made a second jar version 1.30...
as a side note:
i noticed that if you install some pal games as direct boot pkg, those become ntsc version as a psn title. for example prototype, stranglehold, infamous, red faction guerilla, etc...
this is sometimes anoying and so the xmb-mount option is perfect in such moments.

i don't know much about magic pkg, as i only use its other tools, but the xmbloader creates only "mounting-point"-shortcuts for games. the game is still a DiscGame with NO modification. i think magic pkg can convert FULL games to single pkgs, as HddGame with an modified eboot/sfo, so they are completely different. as we already know, not every game can be converted to a pkg and installed as HG, xmbloader pkgs work for almost every game as these are only "mini-backupmanager" with included payload.
can you make a working pkg for example for GOW3 with magic pkg without heavy editting the eboot? i don't think so...
with this tool you can make pkgs which were not able with all the other tools/methods but no blackscreen games, as they need to be mounted to usbxxx/PS3_GAME or external data install.
lemme say, it replaces the backupmanager-usage for "normal" games.

i tried it for some games in hdd0 but it didnt work , any help ?
p.s : if it possible to have 4 char in path i mean i want to change GAMES to GAME but it gimme error when i change it to 4 char , ?
no, you cannot change the paths to less letters. it must be exactly GAMES or GAMEZ folder (or even another one but 5 LETTERS in it).
Note: THIS IS NOT THE PLACE WHERE THE PKG INSTALLS, THIS IS WHERE YOUR GAMES ARE STORED. ALL PKGS INSTALL TO dev_hdd0/game/TIDUXXXXX
do you try it on 3.55? cause for 3.41 the pkgs do not work. they're only signed for 3.41 and can be installed on but cannot be executed on 3.41 (i think the payload file must be changed). however, these do work on 3.55.
to make it work:
backup games to dev_hdd0/GAMEZ (i think it even must be the GAMEZ folder as i hexedited the payload file). select param.sfo (no edit) from your game and make pkg from ps3game folder as usual minus the eboot as the app makes a new one. and thats all. it should work as it is only a mount-link to the backuped gamefiles. and remember, no blackscreen games and some games still need disc in drive and started from disc-icon like gow3.
btw, afaik the app includes only icon0.png in pkg. you still have to copy the other files such as icon1.png and the ac3 sound file manually into installed directory under dev_hdd0/game/TIDUXXXXX. this way the installed pkg looks and acts just like an installed psn-game.
if there are still problems send me the files. also, i know a german site where somebody makes a lot of working pkgs with this app. if you are interested just pm as it is also a "warez" site.
it could be that these do not work on waninkoko v1/2 as the payload is permanent active and i shud have pointed out, that you DO NOT have to use any bum just before you mount a game this way. if so you need to reboot as there needs to be NO active payload.

Hey sorry to ask, but I just started using this program, and so far it installed fine, but when I launch any of my games from the installed XMB icons via dev_hdd0, it just loads and returns to the XMB Menu, no error no nothing, the default is GAMES, I set it to GAMEZ, but incase I didnt I tried both, same thing, also, is there anyway you can put dev_usb001 back, my ps3 works with usb000 and usb001, weird I know, but those are the ports I have on my slim... any help would be great.
as i said, this app is only for setting up mounting links to your game on xmb and you start the game from
you start the installed pkg from xmb, but make sure no backuploader was used just right before, otherwise reboot. multiman is ok with its bdemu payload.
after you get back to xmb, move to app_home/PS3_GAME and your game should be mounted and you can start it. but i think all the games that require the normal way a bd, still need disc in drive and started from disc-icon dev_bdvd, such as gow3.
tpryor thank you so much for the help, I finally got it working, I kept getting an error every time I launched app_home, I found out why I got it, just as a future idea, since I only use MultiMAN, I'm not sure if other managers do this, but with MM, it rips the disc with ID-[NAME] and that's what was causing me problems, I had to just put the normal Game ID, so it would be nice if you could allow the program to accept the name too, that's just me though, not a big deal...anyways, thanks for the help, and uh, well looking forward to whatever else you make.
i will take a look at the program and look if i can handle it, but i cannot promise if i can get this done...
