So some games cannot run from an external drive due to the 4gb size limitation on files. This is a shame because plugging in an external usb hdd is much easier than having to open up a ps3 and switch internal hdds, which is the only current solution on ps3s that are built in with hdds such as 40/60gigs..otherwise you'll simply run out of room with one or two big games.

Would NTFS support eliminate this problem? My question is of course then, would NTFS support be possible through an update to -manager- or would it be needed through firmware? Or both?

Especially with owners with two ps3s in the house, it would be nicer to have 1 external you can carry around and plug in, instead of having to install two bigger hdds into said ps3s and install in both.

If a game is too big, just run it off your original disc.

    lol good one.

anyway, it's not much of a problem, just keep ur external working games on ur ex drive, an keep the ones that only work on internal on there.

i know it's not some great solution, but it works fine.

Yeah, now its not a problem, I'm not really complaining.

I guess I"m more talking down the line sort of thing, as bms become more stable, more polished. Things are still being figured out and new stuff comes out pretty much daily.

Just something I'd like to see as an improvement.

More then likely, the next thing we'll see is network loading.

That would be pimp, especially if multiman could support BD iso over the network.

You have to take into account games that have scenes with lots of things on the screen that can cause frame drop even. The overhead and perhaps random throughput some people have while streaming even over gigabit can be a factor; imagine if that happens the game would lock up while seeking data or freeze entirely.

Im not too familiar with the hardware specs of the PS3... Now for the dune player is designed with internal memory allocated for buffering...So when you get loss of packets, you wouldn't even know it.
