what if i play a large file from external hdd –
My question is say i wana put a game say mgs4 or uc2 and play it from the external not nowing i couldnt. WHat would happend? Would it ruin my external?
No, when backing it up from an original disk, it will split any big files and put a _ in front of the game name in your BM (backup manager). That will make it unplayable by any BM other then Iris. If at any time you wish to play the games, you just load up your BM and select to move the game to internal (usually by pressing whatever button is designated for copying) and then it will join the split files and make the game playable again. If you backed up the game to your external from a computer without splitting the large files, more then likely the large files got skipped and the game won't be playable anyway.
There's a thread on this forum which says how to play games with files larger than 4gb from external. Its on the second page of this section i guess. And no it wouldnt ruin your external.
