What did I do wrong?

im trying to play a backup of resonance of fate

i installed cfw 3.55 kmeaw after ofw 3.55 by following the instructions exactly

i've got my disc of resonance of fate and followed rogero's instructions for making the package to the letter

i ftp'd into my ps3 and placed the bles00789 folder under hdd0 directory in the GAMEZ folder i had previously made for demons souls(which worked)

i installed the package i created (the 3.55 one) and went into multiman and created the shadow files

i get a black screen forever whenever i select the resonance of fate icon or try launching it from multiman or gaia. hovering over it shows the background and has sound if that matters.

the first thing you did wrong was NOT READING the forum rules about not talking about illegally pirated games in the forums... so with that, no smart forum participant will help you illegally play your pirated ps3 game.

i didnt say i pirated it. i said i've got a copy. that's how i refer to the discs i own. im sorry i should have thought that through.

What package are you talking about? Resonance of Fate you simply rip from disc to internal and play

if you truly have the original disc, then put it in your ps3 and run multiman/rogero/gaia and make a backup to the internal hdd. by having to ftp from your computer to your ps3 pretty much means you DOWNLOADED a copy of the game. i highly doubt you originally backed up a game with your ps3, ftp'd it to your computer, deleted the backup on your ps3, and are now (for some reason) putting the copied backup back INTO your ps3. if you did, then you wouldnt be asking questions on HOW to properly put a backup in your ps3 because the process is actually pretty simple.

Package games are dated, useless, annoying and just plain POS's

that is what i did though. i thought i had to use the .pkg creator

no, all you have to do is put the original disc in and make a backup of it using whatever backup manager you want (multiman/rogero/gaia/etc). it'll just backup the game to your internal and you should be able to play it. if you need to patch it because it requires a higher firmware than you're on, then patch it.
