Was using 3.41 with iphone jailbreak. Used Multiman. All games worked.

Then upgrade to 3.41 CFW with lvl2.pkg and Multiman. All games worked.

Finally got around to swapping in a new 650gb hard drive and upgrading to 3.55 kameaw, latest Multiman 1.15.05. Now no backups work.

I have Condemned in the disc drive. I've tried them with direct boot, from App/Home, and from the disc icon on XMB. Nothing works. With some I get a black screen and lockup, others I get black screen and boot back to XMB. With Uncharted 2 I get prompted for an update, and whether I accept or refuse, I get the loading dagger -- but it's a pixelated mess, as it was back on 3.41 when I tried to load it with no disc -- and it never gets anywhere.

    What's going on here?

    Games are:
    Uncharted 2
    LBP
    LBP 2
    Demons' Souls
    Killzone 2

According to the compatibility lists, I shouldn't be having problems with any of these. By the way, when I hover over the disc icon, the backup's theme does appear and everything.

That usually happends because of modded EBOOTs, try obtaining the originals (or re-ripping the discs).

Thanks for the response. The Eboots are the originals and have never been modified. These are all direct rips.

Did you try patching it by pressing R1?

OK if the games worked, and you didn't modify any eboots, they will work on 3.55 kmeaw firmware.

check kmeaw's PUP MD5 to ensure it was 3.55 kmeaw firmware. If the MD5 is different reflash official via recovery and kmeaw via recovery. I doubt this is the problem however, but any file's checksum should be verified before writing to a device!

File permissions could be a problem, especially where you installed a new drive & re-ripped/FTPd. Ensure the copy is good. Boot debian via asbestOS may be easier to check and compare files. R1 in multiman should scan and fix the game permissions.

corrupt/infant death drive could be a problem, making the files not quite right.
Choose some random files, copy them to your USB/computer and generate MD5's for them - see if they match up with the files on disc. (multiman may have this built in via hex editor?)

Other than that, MutliMan has everything it needs to make kmeaw firmware purr.

Your specific problem with uncharted sounds like a modified eboot (freezing). check this one first. If its not a modified eboot (md5's are same as your disc) you are missing files.

By "direct rips", do you mean ripped from your own disc or a scene rip?

Never trust scene rips to have unmodified eboots, as a lot of scene groups still release games for 3.41.

    Okay, fixed.

The problem was that I had the games in the GAMEZ folder. Even though Multiman found and launched them, they didn't work.

I moved them to the GAMES folder and now they all work again. Guess it's a bug in Multiman, or at least in 1.15.05. I'll make a post in that thread.

You to find a download, then run :
    FIX_PERMISSIONS_Waninkoko_Kmeaw_CFW_3.55

Then you won't even need a disc in the drive.
    Works just fine for me.
By the way, do NOT upgrade to Multiman1.16. It will remove key features that enable this shit to work in the first place.

Remember not all games with with Back-Up Managers. For some, you will have to use a package that someone created, or create one yourself.

STAY WITH YOUR CURRENT Multiman VERSION
