Updated Black-Ops - now can't play

So I have a back-up of COD Black-Ops that my kids play...today a message came up asking to update the game software to the latest version....my son accidentally updated the game and now when he goes to play it he gets a message stating that the system needs to be updated from 3.55 to 3.60 in order to play the game - Will I have to uninstall the game and back it up again in order to play it...I went into the file manager and I deleted the .sfo file on the hdd but that didnt change anything....I use multiman and have my games backed up to an external hdd....any ideas on how I can get this to play for him again????

Delete and re-install. This is exactly the reason why I gave my PS3 an invalid gateway.

ok sweet..I'll do that.
Educate me please though - would the invalid gateway prevent the update from coming through or my system info being sent out???

An invalid gateway would disconnect your PS3 from the internet but still keep it connected to your home network (lan) for streaming and FTP-related tasks. If you absolutely need internet for your PS, then get a 3.6 spoofer installed. All it does is stop update msgs from popping up, you can read the how-to's on the forum

Dude you don't have to delete the game and re install just delete the game data its the first selection at the top of the game column. Don't patch this game past 1.09

Here is the psn black ops 1.09 psn link just download and install pkg. This also happened to me when 1.10 came out had to delete game data and install this one.

I thought i did that ,,,I will dbl check and see,,,would it have to be done for all profiles??

I deleted the game data and all is well...thanks for the help on this one.
Also thanks mario for the link for the update .pkg
It would be great if someone could somehow get the map add-ons so we can get them on as well......

Checking now on doing an invalid gateway....
