TROUBLE WITH EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE
TROUBLE WITH EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE –
i am having trouble using western digital 3tb external drive. i have kmeaw and multiman installed. i have changed external format to fat32 but cannot get it to work. any tips would be great, thanks.
I'm on the same boat as you, except my WD external is 1TB.
However, my PS3 HAS been able to detect my external a total of 3 times out of the dozens of times i plugged it in. Try plugging it and unplugging through the right hand usb port again and again until it is able to detect it.
I also heard that having your external hard drive split into 2 separate partitions can fix this, but i haven't tried it.
is there an external HD drive combatibility list out there? would be nice to have so we can avoid certain makes and models that may not be compatible with ps3 such as western digital that the OP has
Damn 3tb... How many games are you gonna "backup" lol
Anyways is your ext. Hdd AC powered? Not just usb
Try to resize partition, I believe 2Tb is max size what PS3 regonize for external hd ..
Also make folder named: GAMES
i think its GAMEZ not GAMES!

Multiman by default GAMES
Gaia exists in 3 versions: GAMES, GAMEZ or BDRIPS i think
I personally use multiman and gaia both in GAMES version
