When PSN access was restored I found out that Tomb Raider Underworld got a PSN version last month. If we can get the files from that version maybe we can find out why backups of the Blu-Ray don't work? Could a simple EBOOT.BIN swap (Blu-Ray over PSN) get it working?

Nothing against Math (legend). Next quote irrelevant to above lol.

no because EBOOT.bin from PSN is encrypted and has DRM. Maybe a debug update could help if the PSN version has a different title id but i doubt it, and plus i doubt there is any update for that version since the latest update from TRU came out a long time ago !

I'm saying put the disc's EBOOT.BIN over the PSN one and see if that boots. As I clearly stated:

Wondering about the same..
Assassins creed: brotherhood, was also a "black-screen-game", and when the people stick their heads together they almost always find a solution.
So hopefully some brainiacs can make the Tomb Raider Underworld work as well. but I guess they all are busy with the new games..?

won't work, EBOOT.BIN is actually the problem, the game doesnt boot up !
The data files of the game aren't problematic for sure, people with the store bought game cannot boot it, so sticking the same executable on some other version (which is the same) won't change anything. Plus, the original EBOOT.bin surely looks to boot from bluray, while the PSN version is booting off dev_hdd.
And then if you still think i'm full of shit, buy the PSN version and let us know

I just stated that you misunderstood what I said, which you did be honest, and now all of a sudden I think you're full of shit?
I was thinking maybe like how they got COD MW working by swapping the disc files over the demo (ok it had saving problems but still) and then there is TimeShift which was made working perfectly (saving included) using the same method.

so.. for CoD they use the DEMO file ON the DISC full version.. DEMO version works fine on jailbroken ps3, this is no news.
What you wanna do is PUT Disc full version EBOOT.bin (which BLACK SCREENS) on PSN version of the game (which obviously work if you are authorized) --> think a little, it will black screen.
Anyway, if you really think it would work, you can try easily by dling the 60 min trial of TRU, it's basically the full game, with a DRM that prevents you from playing it >60min. The only catch is that it's only available for PSN plus users sadly, but maybe one of you can get the direct link via a proxy.... Since we are jailbroken, we can MAYBE reset the timer, although even if we can, only the person who can run it will enjoy it, and I doubt non psn plus will be able to run the game (I guess, the game checks if you are a PSN plus on the first run for authorizing.... But i'm not sure, I never tried PSN Plus demos on standard PSN account)...
Let me know !
