Split files question

I have CFW 3.55 and Multiman 1.14.01, a 1TB external USB and all working fine. I have a few backups which were over the 4gb limit and had to use Split4G to get them onto the USB drive. Multiman shows the games there but they wont run, but if I copy them to the internal hdd they do. Is there anyway to split files and keep them on the externald drive?

At the moment games with big files work only from internal HDD.

There is an exception for Uncharted 2 or other games if the big file has an psarc extension: link (How to run a backup game with 4gb+ file on external fat32)

Is there a list of games somewhere that have PSARC files and can successfully be played from external after fixing them up? I'm seeing that some games still don't run after you fix them. Also, I'm hearing Congenie also allows them to be played from external after they're copied, without having to use this PSARC tool, does it do the PSARC trick on the fly or something?
