run backups from a disc?
run backups from a disc? –
Is to possible to run a back up(legally owned) from a disc (dvd+r DL) on multiman?OR any other backup managers?
Hmm..that's a good question but ever since the age of hdd being introduced to gaming, disc based media running backups are kind of old school. Btw, you'll be saving your laser by just ripping it to your hdd. Replacement blu ray drives are expensive.

selling chipped ps2s and illegal games was a big retail store hit in middle east some years back.
well i don't have enough money for a bigger HDD and i only have a 20 gig now so i thought i could put a few of my games on discs so if my originals die ill still have a playable copy
The simple answer is it's not possible.
I hope it never is! Why would anyone want to burn legit backups when we can use int or ext hdd?! lol Didnīt you make enough coasters for your ps2? I donīt even like using orginal discs, I find the noise offputting now Iīm used to relatively silent hdd. Lol,you can evenplay from thumb drives and the like, why would anyone want to burn blurays?

The only time as to when burning backups is useful is when you want to make a copy for safe-keeping purposes and the hard (solid-state/removable)-disk located backups you have made are taking up too much storage space on your storage device (so you decide to delete it in order to free up space)
Isn't that what xbox is for?

Stay away from dvd+r DL or SL... when you have the possibility to launch it from a hdd.
Oh dear, now come to think of it.... I still have like 2 samsung ms-28 and a BenQ lying arround here
My dear friend HDD surpasses dvd+r in almost every way.. Faster, more reliable in terms of playback (stuttering, pause glitches / crashes etc...etc...etc..) , more Space and so on and on ...
And above all MUCH CHEAPER mate..
The problems i have had with some dvd drives, drove me almost nuts.
And iam sure the media wos not to blame for, i ONLY used THE BEST and the most expensive DVD+R back then which is vERBATIM or Tayo Yuden
i still remember my new bhought ps2 90000 (last model made)
played all my ps2 games like crap all of a sudden
ps2 games that always have played flawless before on my former ps2 models!
I mean , fony sony finaly did their shit right regarding the pot callibration of the lenses mate on the last ps2 model
But think about it....
I have purchased an 2TB HDD External (only 3,5 inch) for only arround 70€ or 70$ more or less.
Now, thats like the capacity of 250 DVD+R DL mate
So you do the math, 250 x 1$/€ piece (lowest current price i can get for VERBATIM / TAYO ofcourse)
