a question about PAYLOAD on multiman?

i just got a look at my multiman sytem info and it says that i have

1. Multiman 02.08.00
2. my cfw version is currently at 3.55 (sc-8 / Hermes)

they say my payload was syscall 8 / Hermes
whats the purpose of this payload? does it have any major function for the multiman to work? there are also sycall36 / PL3, whats the difference? Where can I get more info about payloads and and easy explanation on how or whats its purpose. Thanks guys!

Both of those payload is used for playing backups, no more no less.

Although there are difference between them

Hermes - Better Discless support, Better BD Mirror Support, Black Screen FIX, Supports splitted files on external (cached in Internal HDD)
SC36 - Default payload for multiman, at least until 2.05 and 4.xx Multiman.

If you ask me what to use, hands down for Hermes/SC-8

that's weird, i always thought that standard payload was recommended except for split games. i guess i read wrong.

so, what does a payload actually do and how can there be more than one?

yeah i would also like to ask the same question, what are available payloads for a cfw and what do they do?

Update your Multiman, youll be more happy. Hermes = ftw.

I too have 3.55 (sc-8 / Hermes) when i check in multiman but the latest mM doesn't suport hermes for bd-mirror does it? So surely if i update to Mm I cannot use this function? or do I just have to select 'standard' option then in the settings menu for this to work? also all the old split stuff will still work won't it after this change?

multiMAN still supports both payloads & BD Mirror should work in both (I have always used Hermes)

Edit: Dean told me BD Mirror has nothing to do with payload

help, i need a link where i can download multiman 1.16.12 full with ebootfix, ebootmod, etc. maybe ill stick to a discless method. thnx.
