Question about NTFS Filesystem (*I know ps3 reads FAT32*)
Question about NTFS Filesystem (*I know ps3 reads FAT32*) –

Hello there. I have a WD My Passport Essential HDD 320 GB and it is formatted with NTFS. As I know, PS3 can't read NTFS but only FAT32, thats why the HDD led doesn't even turns on when i plug the drive in the console.
Somewhere, anyway, I read that there is a way to read NTFS HDD connected through the PS3. I'm not meaning "playing games from HDD" but just moving files from the HDD to the PS3 internal memory (maybe using linux?)
I'm using the FTP way to move files inside my PS3 memory right now, because I don't want to split files.
Any tip? Thanks in advice for the help. Great website.

There have been some issues with the WD drives lately. If possible, use a DC adapter with this drive or one of those dual USB cables (might need more then 5v to spin up). As for NTFS, there is no solution for it.

I understand. Just another question (I don't want to open another useless topic). I'm using OpenPS3ftp to transfer my files to ps3.
I would like to know if there is some FTP homebrew that lets me transfer files to PS3 while I'm playing some games, like being in background.
Thanks again in advice.
