its because you wouldnt just be running a ps3 game with those specs and hardware, youd be emulating the entire ps3 engine through another os THEN running the game... the amount of power required to do this makes a ps3/xbox360 emulator for the pc something you wont be seein any time soon

If there isn't an emulator for the psp, why do you think there would be one for the ps3 any time soon if at all? I doubt you'd even be able to afford a pc/upgrades that would come close to being able to run one.

You need to unerstand emmulation. The PS3 is uses Cell based processors and the PC uses Intel based processors. They don't speak the same language so you need an intermediate piece of software called an emulator to do the 'translation' between programming languages...

That isn't 100% accurate but I was trying to keep it simple.

To relate it in layman terms thinks of people in two different languages communication via a translator. The entire conversation delays between the two parties each time the interpreter needs to translate for the other person. So it is twice as long to communicate your thoughts then if you were speaking to someone who understands you directly.

    Does that make sense?

The trouble is with emulation it can take more than 2x as long to translate. it can take 3 or 10 times longer to process each command. So your 3.2 GHz PC lis operating like a 300 MHz PS3. These are just sample numbers I don't really know how long it takes...

    hope it helps you understand

PC can only process 1.2teraflops with the latest corei7 processor

and PS3 does do a 3teraflops... so no... emulation is impossible for now.
    Model: CECHC04 PAL/EUR 60GB SKU Console
Firmware: REBUG 3.55 CFW [DEBUG MODE, DEBUG XMB, MENU OPTION 2]
BM: Iris Manager v1.2 (Hermes Syscall8)

You ever hear of something called a video card? Peak theoretical fill rate of PS3 is 4 billion pixels/sec. The new Nvidia 580 does theoretical 49 billion pixels a sec. Emulation is possible, is just a matter of a whole bunch of skilled programming and cracking which no one right now is going to invest time into doing.
