PS3 CFW 3.55 System Backup

I recently Jailbroke my PS3 and I have a handful of games installed on the HD .... I wanted to use my Portable Hard Drive to create a backup, but the PS3 Console was not detecting it in the USB hub. I ended up using an 8GB Memory Stick and that worked fine.

What im wanting to know is how complete/full of a Backup is it?? How much of my current CFW 3.55 Jailbreak got backed up as well?? Im hoping for something pretty complete so if I ever had to re-install the Firmware & related files I could just do a System Backup Restore, after re-formatting the Console of course. I tried to view the files from the Backup folder but they had file extensions that I couldn't open. Anyway of knowing or finding out what actually got Backed Up??

hi external drives need to be formatted to fat32 to use in ps3 ,check the back up via pc

if everthing yo have on the PS3 only equals out to a little over the size of what's used up on the 8GB stick then you're fine (because it compresses but not much) as for the FW I think HDD backup have to be restore to the same FW it was made on
