Ps2 backups on ps3?

Is it possible to play backups of ps2 games on a backwards compatible ps3?

yes.. but using swap magic and a USB loader.

How would you do that and is it not possible to run them using a backup mannager?

no you cant use a backup manager on PS3 to play PS2 backups. Since PS3 used to reset the memory everytime you boot a PSOne or PS2 Game. This will result to reset any changes made by your backup manager (the changes made by backup managers is redirection/mounting of dev_bdvd or app_home with your backups found on External or Internal HDD) thus will result an error.

The only thing possible for now is to use Swap Magic, since PS2 mode can recognize swapmagic as a legit disc, and that swap magic will bridge you to do lots of things like backup launching.
