I got front mission evolved from vintage stock, but didnt realize it was the Japanese version, can I use the 1.02 usa update patch/american eboot to make it english or are there many different files in usrdir that would have to be changed and/or does it depend on the game?

Reason I ask is I know European and us eboots are switchable but probably because they're both english.

But still no definite answer, might have to just try it and find out.

I guess I can just return the game if it doesnt work, still interested being no one has an answer (that I know of).

Most likely it won't work as most games have external language files. You can try it, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Finally tried it, didnt work got that 8000109 whatever error. I even exchanged all the files the update came with and of course fixed the PARAM.SFO. The game still boots with those files as long as I use the japanese eboot, but still the text is in japanese. It's weird though the voices are in english. Didnt try the euro patch figured it would be the same outcome.
