You can demand that the source be readily available and if it is not then you can remove all links that point to the app. Many other sites do this (mostly because members who's code was used and uncredited for).

I agree with you fully, you just can't please everyone. I said I didn't care if the source was released or not, other people are saying that they do care because it contains their code. So since there is a GPL violation it is best to side with the legal way of doing things instead of an illegal way. I'm certainly not out to tell anyone how to run their site, just a suggestion so the people who are complaining will no longer have reason to on this site.
It would be a bit hypocritical to demand source code. We're not talking about an open platform here so there are no violations (as far as I'm concerned). It's purely about community spirit which is something not everyone will embrace. I hate to come off as if I'm defending this guy but to be honest there's no reason why he can't just keep sharing his little tweaked versions here. Yeah some people will get butthurt that he doesn't give credit but there are other things in life worth worrying about..
If he's using ANY open source code he is obligated by law to also share his source code.
