hey guys, i have a Fat uk 80 gb ps3 and im 3.55 Kmeaw using Gia 2.06. I've got loads of games i want to backup (legally) onto my hdd but obviously the 80gb on the ps3 itself isn't enough.
I have a external usb HDD which is 500gb. Currently i use it to back files on my laptops/pc's etc so it is somewhat important to me. I would have bought another HDD however im quite tight on money atm.
Any way im only using around 150gb of the external HDD. My question is this:
Can i partition the HDD, to say, 200gb FAT32 and copy and load my backups of that using gia manager for example or will the ps3 not read the hdd becuase it has another partition?
Could you guys help me out cheers!

Just format it to FAT32 and the PS3 will pick it up
I used a program called "SwissKnife" and it formated around 350 GB of my External 500 GB HDD partition to FAT32.
Windows usually only lets you format in FAT32 up to 32 Gigs I believe... so you might need a 3rd party program to let you format the whole partition you want to FAT32.
