I had to format my drive and start clean recently and everything is working perfectly (GT5, Uncharted 2, LBP 1 and 2 and everything else I have) but PAIN is being a pain in my ass this 2nd time around. It worked perfectly before the format so maybe they released an update recently that is screwing me?

When I launch PAIN (using MM 1.14.01 and Kmeaw CFW 3.55), it gets to the 'Network Initialization' screen and just hangs. I can hit the PS button on the controller and go back to XMB so the PS3 isn't hanging, it's the game.

I tried deleting the game data, applying the patch I grabbed via PS3 Game Updater v1.2 and launching the game again. It doesn't prompt me to d/l any updates but when it gets to that 'Network Initialization' screen, hang city.

    Any ideas?

Quick update in case this happens to anyone else..... I deleted the game data (the latest patch it downloaded when I first ran the game) and the 2nd time around, I did not let it update and it worked perfectly. I guess I'll wait a few weeks/months before attempting to update again and hopefully there will be a new patch out that will fix this problem.

Had same "Network Init freeze" issue with Rogero and MM so it wasn't the backup manager, just the latest game update.

Odd thing though, I helped a friend mod his PS3 earlier today and he could apply the latest Pain update and play just fine without the prob I ran into. Oh well.
