Slim Model: CECH2004A, 500Gb Samsung
Linux: Debian and Ubuntu 11.04 at internal PS3vflash. 1 partition with 14Gb left for 3th Linux based OS (Aros)
Tested backupmanagers: MM 2 and Gaia
tested games that won't run (disk and backup):
Modern Warfare 2
Tested game that does work:
Clive Barker's Jericho
I think every game that uses Trophies gives this black screen error and that is why only older games will run.
I have more games to test but 3 of my fav games that don't run was enough to test at first. Started looking into the problem after I had tested those few games. Running a full GameOS format now (18 hours to go) to see if it is a file system error so I (ok, my PS3) don't have time to test anything for now.
I have made a full backup of my HD with FTP but I don't think the problem is on the FW part on the HD. Trophies are well protected by Sony making me think it is not an easy problem.
maybe this is usefull:
xregistry might have something to do with it? I don't want to mess in the dev_flash files so I will leave it alone for first but I have a backup of dev_flash, dev_flash2 and dev_flash3 (empty).
Go to /dev_flash2/etc/ and copy xregistry.sys to an ext hd or ftp it to your computer. Then if you want to switch hdd's you can copy those files and the *.sys to dev_flash and your trophies are there. This is only for switching hdd's.
Sorry, had to sleep
