what am i to do? its late and my contacts were out and the package file for original backup manager now says its corrupt. i thought i was in a folder for a game but wasnt. i use f/w 3.41 and deleted /dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/parm.sfo, /dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/icon0.png, and /dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/icon1.pam. can i reinstall this same backup manager w/o losing my games? any suggestions? Note: i know NOT to delete the backup manager itself.
nope your games has been deleted you have to recopy them again .
if you havent deleted the game folder itself, you should be ok to re-install the manager or if you are worried it may delete them you could use an FTP program to access your ps3 from a pc, change the name of the LAUN12345 folder to something random, like your name, exit the FTP & then go back to the ps3 & delete your back up manager & re-install it, as you changed your game folder name it will not be deleted, once its re-installed go back & change the game folder name back to LAUN12345.
my games are still there according to comgenies filemanager..i didnt delete the backup manager. i just cant use the backup manager.
then reinstall the backups manager again .
thanks for the fast responses people! i tried changing LAUN12345 via ftp but it failed. i then reinstalled obm itself and its fixed!! thanks again and ive learned NOT to do anything like this when about to go to bed..lol.
