When a jailbreak user refers to 'using hermes' it means that his dongle contains a payload based on the work by hermes.
You must seek out a payload download file that is appropriate for your dongle.
Such are available in many threads of these forums.
A jailbreaking payload must be put in your jailbreaking dongle, and that can not be done just by normal file storage. The payload must be 'flashed' into the dongle using a special program and a special procedure. I use a program named "Flip v3.4.2" to do the flashing, and before I do this I must first press a special button on the dongle.
and how do i use it? im using psbreak. do i put it on that usb or a normal usb?
But that may differ for your dongle, with which I am not familiar.
Not in the sense that it will make games work that require FW 3.50.
also is there something i can do to my ps3 to make it think its on 3.50??
The payloads that 'spoof FW 3.50' merely make the jailbroken console skip using FW 3.50 updates when games request it, as it considers that update unnecessary. But if a game uses new functions that only exist in FW 3.50, that will of course fail when the real firmware is 3.41 which lacks those functions.
