Need help tranferring 4gb+ to hdd –
what program is needed i looked everywhere and im giving up!
Use FTP and you do it thru your router. You need a program to split the file if you wanna do it via fat32.
Once it is split, you can join it back together via multiman. Remember that you can only run a game like this via the internal drive only! External drive won`t work.
The program you need is called split4g
You need FlashFXP for your pc and the lastest blackbox for your ps3 assuming you have the latest CFW
Il give it a try now in a few minutes
Here mate. Try this app. Kudos to Dean of Multiman who made the thing...
Thanks man your very helpful!
How do I put it back together with multiman then or does it do it itself?
Also I cant get any filemanagers to work on my ps3,
and I heard multiman can be used as a filemanager but how do you delete only certain files in the game because you need to for LBP2
-copy the content from BCUS98245\PS3_GAME\USRDIR “”"”"”EXCEPT eboot.bin”"”"”" to /dev_hdd0/game/BCUS98245/USRDIR
Can't FTP big files. –
I have another problem with big files. I cannot transfer big files (at least over 4GB) over ftp. Sometimes the transfer completes, but when I look at the file size it is not the same. Sometimes I get a timeout before the transfer completes. I tried overwriting a couple of times, resuming, but nothing works. This is the case with FlashFXP and Filezilla. I also tried to different HDD's. Does anyone know what the problem is here?
So basically using the program to split the files but then how does multiman get them together? Is there an option or simply does it when you press copy to internal drive?

I noticed above that FTP needs to be used. I tried installing Blackbox's FTP Server v1.1 on my PS3 and was even able to connect to my PS3 from windows default FTP client. After the connection I saw a bunch of directories being listed but my attempt to open/browse each of those directories failed. What needs to be done? Could you guys please describe it in detail?
Thanks a lot for your helpful replies...!!
Try connecting to your PS3's IP with filezilla. You should then see the directory dev_hdd0. Depending on what BM you are using you should transfer the PS3 game folder to the folder GAMES or GAMEZ.
