    1. make sure external is formatted to fat32
2.make sure u have a GAMEZ folder in /root of external
3.once games are on external , this is when u install your backup manager , Gaia 2.07 or whatever , run the manager and it will ask u what dir u would like to use for backups, select whatever dir suits u.
NOTE: yes u can move files around via FTP/pc like if u install games to hdd00/game or whatever and u want it to /usb006/GAMEZ , once u FTP games to any drive , make sure u run FIX_PERMISSIONS_Waninkoko_Kmeaw_CFW_3.55.pkg , then u can run your games and shouldnt have any probs with black screens ect. hope this helps u out.

Ok, heres the latest update ... I took the ext hd and hooked it up to my desktop and was going to swap out them to try and see if it was the ext that was causing the problems. In the process of trying copying my files from my desktop ext and putting them on the PS3 ext ... it took an unbearable amount of time for a 700MB file. So I called Staples, where I go the ext hd and told them that something could be wrong with it and could they look at it. I just got back with a new ext hd, it turns out that all my problems came from the hd itself ... I just got done putting my first game on my new ext hd in a short amount of time and with no errors!!

Thanks all who tried to help and good luck to those who may be having problems ... check your ext hd first, and save yourself the hassle!!
