Need help with Backup Manager

I've got some serious problems. First of all, I searched through the entire internet for tutorials, guides and fixes. So please don't tell me that I should google it or search it in the forum.

Alright. I'm on Kmeaw 3.55.
I had GeoHot's CFW. Recovered OFW -> Recovered Kmeaw. So far, so good.
I installed lv2 patcher & Rogero Manager / multiMan.
Executed lv2 patcher, said Ok, and I went back to XMB. Then I started Rogero's. I configured it so games folder is dev_hdd0\game\LAUN12345\GAMEZ.
Started blackb0x and moved my test game (Vanquish) to \\GAMEZ.
It looked like this : dev_hdd0\game\LUAN12345\GAMEZ\BLES00927.
Final Fantasy XIII was in my drive the whole time.
Started Rogero's again..no game, except FF XIII ??
Pressed Launch, went back into XMB and started Rogero's again. Still only FF XIII. I tried restarting PS3, launch lv2 patcher again, open Rogero Manager. Nothing.

And also I have no access to app_home cuz of 80028f14 error. I tried it with fixing permissions, but didn't work. I read that it is because of wrong payload, but I have Kakarotos PL3 payload.

Can someone please tell me, what I am doing wrong ?

I'm going to start at the bottom of your post and go up:

The only time you can access that folder is when you mount a game with a Backup Manager ala Rogero/MultiMAN (you should use the bluray game disc instead, but you could use the */app_home/PS3_GAME if you want).

After a game is mounted in Rogero, whatever game is inserted into your PS3 will magically become the game you Loaded via Rogero. So you would then load your backup like it was physically inserted in your PS3.


For arguments sake, change your directory where you want to store your games:

Put them in hdd0/GAMES/BLXX####

That is how I have my directory set up for my Backups and it works (no point in trying to load them elsewhere if doing what I typed above will work, and we already know your directory structure isn't cutting it).

Go here:

Grab the lv2 v2 package and Fix Permissions Package.

Run Fix Permissions once (for the games you have backed up to your PS3, AFTER you move them to hdd0/GAMES).
It will look like a black screen, but it's doing the fixing (check the Yellow Light indicator to make certain, as it may take a few minutes).


Then run lv2 v2 package.

Then load Rogero.

Pick your game.

Press 'X' to load.

See that your FFXIII Disc has magically changed into 'GAME'.

Can't get any clearer than that.

Already did that a few times, didn't change anything.


I tried it with Gaia this time. The directory is dev_hdd0/GAMEZ.
I launched lv2 and then Gaia. I was able to see Vanquish, but it showed the BL** code instead of the name. Pressed X on it and it went back to XMB. I went to Final Fantasy XIII, but it still said Final Fantasy XIII instead of GAME. After launching it I got an error and was thrown back to XMB. So with Gaia I can atleast see the content of GAMEZ.

Well something is being overlooked.
Not sure what, it seems that you've done everything correctly, and with the information you've typed, and that you've tried what I've mentioned, it should work (as it does with me).

When I repair electronics, well, PCs/Macs for this example, if something isn't working right, it's either:
A) Bad software/Drivers/Conflicts/etc
or
B) User error


With the current speed of all these new CFWs being updated and released, I'm leaning towards B.

There must be something that's missing preventing you from getting this to work.
I'm out of ideas unless you can think of anything else.
