LA NOIRE newspaper bug?

I just started playing LA NOIRE, and at the first case before i go to the blue dot i have an alley i can investigate in, so i picked up a newspaper but it's stuck there, it does nothing but show the newspaper, nothing else, cant use any buttons to get out.. Did anyone have that same problem?

Edit: fixed the sound bug and freeze bug with the newspaper when i resetted permissions in multiman for LA NOIRE, hope this helped someone.

I did what u did but nothing changed. First of all the fix permission option finishes way too fast or is it normal. It just says something and then nothing.

And does anybody know another way to fix the newspaper bug?

I'm frustrated. All evening i was trying to run this game but no the first bugs appear ....

and if there is no other way can somebody tell me if there will be a fix anytime soon and when?

How are you playing this? Internal or External?

If internal, check in your USRDIR > final > ps3 folder of the release you have.... I believe this to be the correct folder path. Look for a file called cases big or something similar. It may be split into chunks. You will see the .666xxx files if so. Join those back together and you will be fine,

If running from external, just search around. There is a way to make this work.

And how do i do put them back together? I mean haven't they already been put together when i was copying it on the internal?

And the Data is called cases_1_1.big and is about 15 GB right? Just wanna make sure

well its funny i had this issue today, and was reading through the 47 page post under the news forum thread when i stumbled across the fix for my problem. Also had the problem that dialog was missing.

i had a older version of of MM and copied the game from the disk to external . updated using the us update package and then used a fixed sfo from the thread i had mentioned earlier. (not sure why) it did not work.
I updated to MM 2.xx with the bde.2 ran in from ext , let MM cache the game and ran into the newspaper issue. restarted the ps3 (to unload the game ) I deleted both the game file and the dlc file restarted the ps3 again. installed the update package went into MM made sure emulator and everything else was off. ran the game and it worked fine.

the strange thing was i have another ps3 i treated a little different i updated MM right off the bat to 2.xx and installed bde2. went int MM to run game from ext it asked me if i wanted to fix the sfo. ( the ps3 with issues never asked me this even after deleting the game files). then installed the cache and the game worked with no issues at all.

so all i have to do is to update MM to 2.xxx and install the bde.2. And before i start it the emulator must be off right?

and where do i get the bde2. or bde.2 from?

well thx for your reply but it still didn't work for me. The Sony God hates me thats why ... anyway could somebody write if there will be a fix from rockstar or whoever makes it ... thx

I had this same problem when i played on external hdd (split files) and I ended up re-downloading it and transferring the files to my internal hdd (no split files). Also you have to start the game by pressing select+X in multiman otherwise the controls don't work.

I don't know if copying the game from external to internal will automatically combine the 15GB case file for you or not so redownload/rebackup is your best bet.
