A patch is on the way from rockstar :
Regarding the "8001006, start operation" issue, we will follow up with Sony as this is not a Rockstar error but a Sony one. We expect that things will stabilize shortly and
we will have the first patch soon, which may or may not solve the overheating issue.
There is at least one patch coming in the very short term to address certain issues and we will be as open and transparent as we can about our progress on this overheating problem.
source : PS3s shutting themselves off while playing L.A. Noire : Rockstar Support
hope we will have a brink case here!
What do you think guys?We'll back it up?

Looks like Sony shot itself in the foot yet again with the overheating issues that rockstar are trying to cure, hopefully the cure will be to reduce the firmware requirements.

retail update != debug update
brink worked from a debug update which happened to be compiled in 3.55 sdk

because it's the 3.61 causing the problems not the game. All they can do is try to reduce the load their game is causing above the problems of 3.61.
