You need Bdemu2 for this to work, install it first and have it set to Hermes

Ok well I had black screens and just could not figure it out. Today I finally found a way to get it running.
For everyone having black screen problems here is what to do:
1.Start Over Clean-delete your backup that currently isn't working and get a clean copy.
2.Download Split4g
3.Run Split4g and split your files for L.A. Noire, then wait for Split4g to finish.
4. When it finishes put L.A. Noire on your external.
5.Turn on PS3 and open Multiman
6.Highlight L.A. Noire and go into its game settings on multiman(press triangle button for newest multiman)
7.Press permissions
8.Run game and Multiman will tell you it needs to download the Cache files, press yes.
8.Next Multiman will tell you the param.sfo requires 3.60 and ask if you want to change it to work on your console, press yes.
9.Multiman will take you to XMB, while you're here download the .pkg patch for your game.
10.re-enter MultiMan and select BD Mirror in LA Noire game settings
11.Run the game and it will begin installing data, when it's done exit the game
12.re-enter MultiMan and un-select BD Mirror in LA Noire game settings
13.run game and enjoy

spot on but i would just like to say it'll be quicker if you merge steps 3+4 together...
3.Run Split4g and split your files for L.A. Noire, then wait for Split4g to finish.
4. When it finishes put L.A. Noire on your external.
quickest, and least interaction needed way (i find anyway) is when you open split4g just drag the entire game folder into it then select output folder as your external gamez directory
that way - it'll split the big file(s) and copy the rest all in the same action
you dont need to run the permissions fix (or at least i didnt)
and the update can be downloaded through the game options in multiman before caching (click no after getting the update) then when it kicks you back to xmb after caching, install update from pkg folder before clicking the disk icon
no offence meant and not poking holes in your method, just shortening the time for impatient people like me, lol
its not piracy if you dont own a sword or a parrot

Excellent tutorial guys, works good.
Although for the less technically minded people out there, it is alot easier to just transfer from PC to PS3 via FTP. This also works with no issues whatsoever.
Because of the size of the game (22.6Gb), I think I would prefer to run it from external and will follow this guide which seems very straightforward so thanks for that.
If anybody would like to do the FTP method, then I would suggest 'Blackb0x', just google, download and install to PS3, then google and download 'Filezilla'. Then there is a tutorial on youtube on how to set this up......very simple.

I did not create this video but it does show you everything you need to know about FTP transfer to your PS3.

yeah, found it. had to clear mm cache data.
anyway, I know it's for external and i've tried to do what you say exactly the same say but i got the 80010019 error so i've deleted everything and tried from the start and now when i'm trying to run the game it just ask me if I wanna edit the PARAM and that's it... any advice?
