    Hi

I'm on Rebug 4.21 and I wanted to test the two titles above but eventhough I have installed the 1.01 patch for both they still want me to update to 4.25, why?

They are both on external and I have never had this issue before. Just before I installed the updates I updated Multiman to 4.11.11, I thought that it fixed things to the firmware you're like the param.sfo?

Hope someone can help me out?

    Best regards SilentDK

because you didn't follow all instructions for using Rebug 4.21. Look in your install pkg menu for Rebug Toolbox. Install it and run it. Look for a setting to set for Rebug mode. When you quit it will restart your system and your system info will say you're on 4.31

I just want to have some clarification here.
Cant one just use the eboot fix and just edit the firmware from the PSRAM.SFO (whatever it's called) and just play the game normally? I am seeing these "game updates" more than ever but wont that just screw everything up with the eboot which will result in asking you to update?

When I used to have CFW I always checked the 3.55 compatibility list and just grabbed the fix and played the game on OpenManger whatever game that was 4+gb I just transferred the game from my NTFS hd using the multiman file manager to the internal HD. But as I remember I never had an issue with any game because I didn't care about the updates.

Are the update patches really needed? Cant one just grab the eboot patch and be done?

Thanks for fast answer. I have installed Rebug Toolbox, but havent enabled Rebug mode because I thought it was only if you used PSN (which I dont, I dont play online), and with COD BO 2 there was no issue just install the 1.01 update and then the game worked..... So if I enable rebug mode, I will also be able to play Lego Lords of The Rings and other games which dont have an update? And do I have to enable this each time I start my PS3? And is it safe?

These new firmwares don't need games to be patched. Just run them with or without a game update. In very rare cases where the game is 4.3x and doesn't have a game update then you'll have to apply a patch to those. I've only had to do it once but everything else just played

I wouldn't tell you to do something that's not safe

Thanks for clarifying I pretty much thought so. I think a while back with BF3 you actually needed to use the update to make it work on 3.55 but that was so many months ago.
