Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but where do you guys recommend I use as my "main" storage for PS3 backups? The internal hard drive, or an external USB one? I just installed CFW yesterday, so I don't have much experience with it. I know with the PS2 internal had better compatibility, and sometimes with external movies would get choppy, but I think that's just because the PS2 didn't have USB 2.0 support, so is it okay to use either? Are there any benefits to using one over the other?

Internal is better external should be fat32 and fat32 has limitation to 4gb so you cannot copy files over than 4gb to external hdd.

Use external as much as you can for the obvious reason of saving internal space. Some games require an internal installation so check the 3.55 backup compatability list in the forums to see what needs to go where.

use external for all you can for two reasons, you save space from internal to those games who has 4gb+ files (almost all new exclusives and some old exclusives has files like this), and because the hdd is working outside so the heat in the console is low, plus is more easy to change the external hdd than internal.. that's my advice..
Sorry for my english, i do the best i can cause i'm argentinian.. RIVER PLATE BIG FAN ♥
