I can't seem to play any games after 3.55 even though my PS3 has been flashed with 4.30 CFW? MultiMan issue? Something else?

Hey all! As a long time member here I must say in advance I thank you all for your continuing help for me and strangers alike. It really is an incredible community. Think about it; you guys have been around longer than Youtube has been
Anyway, my Cobra USB finally got a 4.3 update and it went along fine. Here's the problem. Since all the keys for 4.3 have been broken or whatever, I was under the assumption I could play pretty much any game now. The problem is, I am not even able to play games that were released a long time ago! A good example is Street Fighter VS Tekken. I tried everything to play it yesterday, and I could not get it to boot. Please understand I have gotten many other (older) games to launch just fine. I am using the newest MultiMan on my launch 60GB PS3 with an internal hard drive.
I think the problem might be something with MultiMan? Originally, before I had the 4.3 firmware, I was using a firmware spoofer feature in MultiMan. I spoofed to 4.31. When I go to the XMB, my PS3 in "System Information" says I am on 4.31. This is weird because I am on 4.3 with Cobra. Anyway, here's the real issue. When I go into MultiMan, it keeps saying to spoof to 4.31. I change it to "Disabled" and then it asks me to reboot my PS3. I say yes. When I go back to multiman, 4.31 is selected again!
I am thinking my PS3 might not actually be using my 4.3 Cobra firmware, and I suspect MultiMan might have something to do with that? Especially since it always goes back to 4.31 spoof even though I tell it to disable. It's like it's not saving my settings or something.
Any points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I have been Googling for hours to no avail. Thanks guys!!
the most common problem people have (or had) was that they keep using their old resigned eboots after upgrading to 4.30CFW. If you, at one point, replaced the eboot for a game requiring 3.56+ FW with one of the 3.55 patched ones, you need to restore the original eboot for that game to make it work on CFW (please, correct me if i am wrong).
Also, i am about to move to 4.30 CFW just now (long story) and i read somewhere that for some games you need to have the BD Emulation option enabled in multiman. I thinks that was the options name, or something very simmilar, english is not my first language, so i have trouble remembering some things by hearth.
also, as far as i know, the rogero 4.30 CFW is spoofed to look like 4.31, maybe the cobra CFW did the same, that is why you cannot disable the spoofing. just a thought
