I can't get backup games to boot! Black screen

I have used multiman, open manager, gaia manager, and backup manager. Multiman makes my backup show up as the disc when it returns to xmb, but I always just get a black screen whenever I try to boot a backup.

Help us help you. What dongle, payload, loading from internal/external, direct boot, patch mode, diskless/with disk, etc.

Sorry, I guess I should have said all that before. PS3Yes. Hermes v4b. fw 3.41. I just checked the list of working games and I didn't realize that so many don't work without the updates and patches and such. Is pl3 a better payload?

Hermes is the most compatible. PL3 does have some advantages with newer games and it's always in development, whereas Hermes left the scene about a month ago. If you are going to use PL3, I'd suggest using the NUN (No unauth syscalls) version as it seems to be the most compatible.

ok thank you. Also, I figured out how to boot a few of my games by just reading the compatibility list in this forum.
