I saw numerous instruction refers to something called "patch param.sfo", however googling doesn't really elobrate what does that actually mean.

Is it as simple as opening that file in a hex editor, look for string like "3.42" and change that to "3.41"? Or somethings need to be change?

    Hey linkon.

    Download "PS3SFOEdit"

With that program you can edit your ParamSFO files.

    Goodluck!

Of if you're not feeling up to manually editing via an app, just leave it up to the manager to edit for you. Latest managers like MultiMan/OpenMan/Gaia all have the ability to automatically patch PARAM.SFO if they see the game requiring 3.42 or 3.50.
